Bachelorette Parties: Then And Now
When it comes to the time prior to the weeding the most important duty of a maid of honor is to arrange for the bachlorette party. This is the last time that the bride-to-be would be meeting all her acquaintances as a spinster. So the planning has to be done perfectly.
When you think of a bachlorette party what is the first think that comes to your mind, strippers, right! But, believe me when I say that it is possible to have a bachlorette party without strippers, and outrageously drunk bride-to-be, and the regrets in the morning. But in the end it is your decision (especially if you happen to be the maid of honor) to go in for a PG-rated bachlorette party.
So, which party should you go in for an X-Rated bachlorette party or a PG-rated one? Well the decision is left up to the person for whom you would be having the party, the bride. Well as you are the maid of honor you would probably know the bride pretty well, so would she like to go crazy before her marriage, or would she feel out of place and then regret her actions later? Some bridesmaids are of the opinion that watching a guy take his clothes off would loosen up the bride who would be very tense at that point in time. But generally these plans backfire, and leave everybody feeling uncomfortable and waiting to get out of that situation, including the stripper.
So, if the PG-rated party is the way to go, what is the bride-to-be going to do on the night (or weekend) before her wedding? Well as you might have guessed, this depends on the bride, and also with the people who are going to be there at the bridal party. For example, if the bride’s conservative relatives or college friends are the bridesmaids then? Although college friends would be fun to go out drinking and clubbing with, the same can’t be said about the brides’ aunts (then again, the right aunts would make the difference). A sentimental bachlorette party, which includes a reunion with friends and family the bride hasn’t meet for a while could also be a possible option.
Also you could also add in some fun aspect to the party (I don’t mean hitting the bars). There would definitely be a childish side to the bride. How does a game of skee-ball and mini golf sound? What about traveling? You could probably take the entire bridal party for the bachlorette party to some new place; it could just be for dinner or a night out to the neighboring state. When you are finalizing on the bachlorette party make sure that you take into consideration the mood of the bride and the bridal party, and then you are sure to have a blast.
What ever you may decide your eventual goal is to make the bride-to-be happy because she would be now going into a different phase of her life. So although the strippers would be the first thing on your mind, I suggest that you take your time and find out what the bride really wants.
